We Believe
Every Cat
Deserves a Home
Here at Andrea’s Legacy we believe every cat has the right to a warm loving home and we are doing everything we can to make sure that happens! We have rehomed hundreds of cats and helped people with vets bills and neutering. We typically operate in Wigan and the Northwest but we will help any cat we can!

ADOPT A CAT
Add to Your Family by Rehoming a Cat
To adopt one of our feline friends, you will have to follow our adoption procedure. This a a 3-step process which ensures each of our cats go to a loving forever home as well as ensuring and educating potential future owners about how to care for a cat. We also try and pair you with a cat that fits into your family. The three Step process is below:
Assuming all goes well, a representative of Andrea’s Legacy will contact you with the good news, we will also give you a date of when you can take your new family member home. All of our cats have been neutered, chipped, vaccinated and received flea and worming treatments, so you can put your mind at ease and concentrate on making your new furry friend feel welcome in your home.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Help Us, Help Cats!
We are always happy to welcome a helping hand at Andrea’s Legacy. It always seems like there is more things to do than people to do them, so any support however small would be greatly appreciated. There are a few ways you could help Andrea’s Legacy, whether it be volunteering your time at a fund raiser, helping to track down and catch homeless/lost cats, temporarily housing one or more cats, visiting potential cat owners homes on a home visit or there may be some other way you would like to offer assistance.
However you are interested in helping us, we would like to thank you in advance, charities like ours always depend on the kindness of strangers, without amazing cat lovers like yourselves we simply wouldn’t be able to provide homeless, unwanted or mistreated cats the care and support they desperately need.
Each of our volunteers are treated like family, we regularly meet up to plan fund raisers, discuss homeless/lost cats they’ve heard about that need catching and also to simply spend time with other cat lovers, so if you are interested in volunteering with Andrea’s Legacy, click the button below to fill out our contact form and one of our representatives will be in touch. Thank you again!
OUR SUPPORTERS
Support From Local Businesses & Orgnaisations
We are very lucky to receive support from local businesses and organizations. These businesses have been kind enough to offer their services, at discounted rates and in some cases for free! This kind of unique support is extremely valuable to us, it allows us to operate at a higher capacity not possible if we had to pay full price. We are always grateful for any support offered to us and we try to give back whenever possible, so as a small thanks to these amazing businesses, we have put there names/logos, the type of support provided and links to their respective websites. We know its small recompense for all they have done for us and hope in the future we will be able to do more. Thank you all once again!

We would need written confirmation from your landlord or housing association stating that your have permission to keep a cat in the house. As long as you have permission then there is no reason why you can’t start our three step adoption process.
If you do live in an apartment building or flat with minimal access to the outdoors you still may be able to adopt a cat. We have many furry friends who either prefer to stay indoors and even some that have to stay indoors for health reasons, such as FIV. There are also some older cats who would be far more likely to want to stay indoors. All of these cats deserve a warm loving home as much as any cat does.
To adopt one of our feline friends, you will have to follow our adoption procedure. This a a 3-step process which ensures each of our cats go to a loving forever home as well as ensuring and educating potential future owners about how to care for a cat. We also try and pair you with a cat that fits into your family.
Here at Andrea’s Legacy we rescue all cats, whatever their background or breed. This means we do come across a lot of thoroughbred (pedigree) cats but they are far less common than your standard Moggie (non-pedigree). Considering there are also approximately 70 breeds of cat, the chances of us happening to have the exact breed you are looking for, that happens to have the right temperament that suits your family would be very slim. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible so it is always worth getting in touch, also you might be surprise yourself and fall in love with a cat that is nothing like you was initially looking for.
We understand the temptation, a lot of animals benefit hugely from having a friend. Especially pack animals like dogs or socials animals like rabbits, cats do not fall into this category, cats are categorised as solitary animals, meaning that most of the time a cat is perfectly happy being on their own. However; you understand your cat far more than anyone, so if you feel another cat would be a benefit then we wouldn’t rule it out. We would simply ask that you take extra care especially in the early days to allow both cats to acclimate and you would need to complete the 3-step adoption process as usual.
This is entirely dependent on your circumstances and the cats temperament, some cats integrate easily into a family home where as other cats can be nervous, impatient and in some cases aggressive. There are huge benefits for children growing up with a cat, having a pet can teach compassion, empathy and even a certain amount of responsibility, so we wouldn’t rule it out, we would simply do as we always do, and approach every scenario as unique and assess accordingly.
